about

The soundtrack for a collaborative multimedia project - the Cocker Valley revisited in words, music and pictures

On this project, I'm working with three old school friends - returning to the valley which we first knew in our childhoods and youth.

Our theme is ‘Landscape and Memory’. We explore the Cocker Valley and what it means to each of us. The memories relate to both our personal life stories and the experiences which link us to others, past and present, who have also known and loved this landscape. Through readings, music and images, conversation, reflections and questions, we interpret the meanings of some special places, and the human longing for roots and a sense of belonging.

about

David Ashworth Sheffield, UK

My music draws its inspiration from the things I see, the things I remember, the things I read and the things I hear.

These ‘things’ have included:

paintings and sculptures
childhood and more recent memories of often small events which I still think of as significant.

The world around me – from the tops of mountains to bus stops in quiet suburban streets.
